All-Electric Ford Announcement from Metro Ford of OKC

Red Electric Truck

Ford Motor Company has announced the launch of an all-electric version of a beloved F-series pickup truck. The announcement was made by Ford CEO Jim Hackett at the Deutsche Bank Global Auto Industry Conference on January 16, 2019.

Ford currently has three eco-friendly models with the 2018 Fusion Hybrid starting at $26,100 with 41 HWY MPG, the 2018 Fusion Energi starting at $31,120 with 91 HWY MPG, and the 2018 Focus Electric starting at $29,120 with 96 HWY MPG. The plug-in hybrid vehicles use a 240-volt outlet to recharge in under 3 hours.

If these three efficient Ford models are any sign, Metro Ford of OKC is sure we’ll be amazed by an all-electric Ford truck! We know that Ford is considering partnering with Volkswagen to produce electric vehicles in the near future and that a Mustang-inspired electric vehicle could predate the F-series pickup. There is no news yet about which F-series model will be graced with electric capabilities, but we’re hoping for the F-150 of course!

Ford’s all-electric truck will compete with Rivian’s R1T unveiled in November, 2018 and Tesla’s futuristic pickup truck still in the planning phase. Along with an all-electric F-series, Ford is also planning for a hybrid F-150!
