The Ford Bronco, if you’ve never heard of it, you are about to be introduced to a whole new breed of performance trucks made to impress. And if you have heard of it, boy have we got some good news for you! With a whole new slew of retro designs, modern technology, and impressive off-road capabilities, the 2021 Ford Bronco holds its ranking as one of the best AWD off-road trucks. Not to mention Ford is offering buyers the choice between a two or four-door design.

Off-Road Performance

Some were sad to hear about the lack of a V8 engine in Ford’s renewal of their famous 1960’s model. The AWD four and six-cylinder engines available with Ford’s new model don’t get enough credit for how powerful they truly are. The engine in the standard trim has a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four churning up to 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. All of this is run by a seven-speed Getrag manual transmission.

The optional 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 is tested and proven to make 310 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Ford has designed their first gears on the 2021 Ford Bronco (otherwise known as “crawl gears”) to match with the four-wheel-drive transfer case and provide an impressive 94.8:1 crawl ratio, a similar metric to the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. It carries an astounding 11.6 inches of ground clearance with 35” tires and is powerful enough to trek through 33.5 inches of water so getting over pools or deep areas, big or small, should never be an issue. Regardless of which engine you choose, the Bronco provides a smooth, stable ride on-road, or off, with plenty of power and performance tuning options that will make any outdoor enthusiast drool while they daydream.

Additional Upgrades

Ford put more than just power in the Bronco this time around. 35-inch mud-terrain tires, beadlock-capable wheels, electronic locking front and rear differentials, long-travel dampers, and a sway-bar-disconnect are also optional off-roading accessories designed to make getting from point A to point B easier than a walk in the park.

Tough On The Outside. Luxury On The Inside

For those of who loved the Jeep Wrangler’s “open disassembly” design, the Ford Bronco just got even better. Two and four door options with soft or hard tops are available and also include removable body panels so switching back and forth between the seasons can be nice and simple. A rack is built into the top of the dashboard for easy and quick GoPro Mount access, smartphone holding, and 12-volt charging capabilities. Ford Claims the doors are easily removable and simple to store inside the back of the four-door model. An 8 or 12 inch infotainment screen is centered in the middle of the dashboard with easy to access HVAC control and AppleCarplay, Android Auto, and Wifi hotspot support.

Cargo Space

A total of five seats in two rows comes standard in the 2021 Ford Bronco. It includes cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front-seat positioning. 32.5 cubic feet of space is available when the rear seats are upright. However up to 65.2 cubic feet are opened up when they are folded down, making it on par with most modern SUVs in regards to space. Because of its boxy design, the back of the Bronco provides plenty of room for bulky items that tend to usually not fit in these types of trucks. The rear window also opens independently of the liftgate, which is a huge help when loading or unloading smaller items.

Pricing & Safety Advancements

Ford has you covered in the field of modern day safety. The 2021 Ford Bronco provides all the safety needed to keep you safe on and off the road. While the NHTSA and the IIHS have yet to give a rating on Ford’s new release, the Bronco is inspired and based off of the Ford Escape. Also, we know that Ford will be including features like automatic high beams, parking sensors, and advanced equipment. All of which makes rock crawling & trail driving much safer. More information on safety coming soon!

Price & Trim Models

The Ford Bronco’s revival is coming this summer in up to seven different trim models. Starting from $28,000 and going all the way up to Ford’s premium off-roading & luxury mode, “First Edition.” Ford also provides a competitive but limited powertrain warranty in case anything happens. What is included can be seen below:

  •  Limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles
  •  Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles

For the price, the 2021 Ford Bronco seems to be a pretty killer deal for those who like off-roading ventures. Not to mention those who would just love one as a daily driver (I know I would). Ford is currently full for reservations on their First Edition trim models.
