Back in the day, the Ford Ranger appeared as an unassuming short bed cab with low pricing and a lack of features. Sadly, the uneventful Ranger truck was discontinued in 2011 after bad reviews and diminished sales. Today, it’s a different story.

2019 Ford Ranger Release

Ford announced a new 2019 Ford Ranger this year, built tough, ready for adventure, and totally customizable. The Ranger has been tested through blistering heat, freezing cold, and wicked terrain. But alas, it has earned the Built Ford Tough title and your respect.

Metro Ford of OKC, your local Ford dealership of Oklahoma, cannot wait to show off this vehicle when it hits showrooms in early 2019. The abundance of features, capabilities, and models sure have earned our respect at this Ford dealership.

The issue is with a part that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission so Ford would like owners to use the parking brake when leaving your car unattended. This KOCO article has more information for Ford owners including the fact that replacing this recall issue will cost nothing for owners of 2013 – 2016 Ford Fusion’s and 2013 – 2014 Ford Escapes if their car shows signs of the recall issue.

Recalling 2013-‘16 Fusions and 2013-‘14 Escapes

If you own a 2013 – 2016 Ford Fusion sedan or 2013 – 2014 Ford Escape we are ready to help you! It was announced on July 18, 2018 that Ford is recalling almost 550,000 vehicles in North America because of a gearshift problem causing cars and SUV’s to roll away unexpectedly.

Owners will be notified by the end of July, but we urge you to visit the Metro Ford of OKC Service Center to take care of possible recall issues quickly! Our Metro Ford of OKC team will always go the extra mile for you and your safety.

Drive 4 UR School

Aug 23, 2018

It is back to school time, which means celebrating our teachers, students, and volunteers. We have all heard the saying, “children are our future,” and here at Metro Ford of OKC, we believe it!

Metro Ford of OKC partnered with the Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools on August 11, 2018 to host the event, Ford Drive 4 Your School. The Ford Motor Company promised to donate $20 dollars for every test drive that occurred during the event, and an extra $10 for every test drive of the 2018 Transit Passenger Wagon.

With our combined efforts, and the willingness of our visitors at Metro Ford of OKC, we raised over $500 for the Oklahoma City Public Schools! The Metro Ford of OKC team was so excited when our first test driver of the morning happened to be a teacher at Taft Middle School. He couldn’t wait to test drive the 2018 Ford Transit Passenger Wagon to earn $30 for his students!

One family of five happened to be shopping for a Ford F-150 and decided to sign up to earn $20 for Oklahoma City Public Schools even though they homeschooled their children in Chickasha!

Another family test drove a new Ford Flex to earn money for their Oklahoma City school! They heard about the Ford Drive 4 Your School event from their child’s first grade teacher and decided it would be a fun way to help their school and the Oklahoma City community.

It was exciting to have Matt Meyer from 98.1 WWLS-FM The Sports Animal come out and entertain our salesmen, guests, and their radio listeners! They provided Metro Ford of OKC with some promotional talk and we provided them with some good old-fashioned cookout foods! That’s right, we had free food at this event for all of our test drivers, volunteers, and staff. We like to think that free food and no-purchase necessary test drives feed our souls and our school’s budgets!

The Metro Ford of OKC team is grateful to the Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools and The Sports Animal for volunteering their time and energy. We are also so happy to represent such a giving car brand at Metro Ford of OKC! This is our fifth test driving event with Ford overall, and this event marks the third time we have given back to the OKC community this year.

It means a lot to us that we are able to give back to our teachers and volunteers, and provide for the students of the Oklahoma City area!

“We’ve had so much fun today,” said Emily Taylor, the Director of Marketing for Ted Moore Auto Group, “The teachers, volunteers and staff [at Metro Ford of OKC] have been having a great time enjoying the weather, the food and the vehicles. We can’t wait to do this again.”

The OKC metro is home to many of our employees so when we give back, we are beyond happy to give locally.

We hope to see you soon for your own test drive and our next events! To learn more about our Community Involvement check out our website or follow us on Facebook to see pictures of this great event and receive notifications about future events.

Blue Ford SUV Round A City Corner

Record High for Millennial New Vehicle Sales

Millennial minds are creative, competitive, and receptive to new ideas, which I should know as I am one. I also know that as the last few Millennials grow up and graduate college, they must think about the car they want to drive through rush hour to their new job or through the backroads on a vacation away from that new job. Buying a new or used vehicle is a big job itself so the Metro Ford of OKC team is always in gear and ready to assist customers through exciting life events such as purchasing a new vehicle!

Oklahoma City is buzzing with young energy and new ideas, which Metro Ford of OKC welcomes with bright eyes and optimistic hearts. The large new and used inventory of sports utility vehicles and trucks that Metro Ford of OKC offers are just the right fit for millennials. Ford SUVs are the perfect vehicles for people wanting to drive efficiently to and from work. Trusty Ford trucks are the best options for cruising through the backroads and enjoy tailgating in the fall.

The Metro Ford of OKC team is especially optimistic thanks to the Edmunds 2018 Automotive Industry Trends: Midyear Update that reports SUVs and trucks comprised almost 70 percent of all inventory on dealership lots from January to May 2018. Metro Ford of OKC is right on track with those statistics because they can offer multiple new SUV and Truck models such as 2018 Ford Escapes, SuperDuty F-350s, Explorers, SuperDuty F-250s, EcoSports, Edge SELs, and Flex’s.

The Edmunds Midyear Update also reports that 21 percent of millennial vehicle purchases in 2018 have been new vehicles which is the highest percentage reported over the past 5 years. If this information does not encourage young consumers to visit Oklahoma City’s premier Ford dealership, Metro Ford of OKC, then Edmunds Midyear Update is here to encourage you even more!

It is reported that SUVs are on average 2 mpg more efficient than cars were just ten years ago. Also, Edmunds has found that rising gas prices are not discouraging people from purchasing Sports Utility Vehicles. These statistics are promising for loyal Ford consumers because Ford knows how to build a sturdy, spacious, and safe SUV or Truck with all the new technology you could need.

The Metro Ford of OKC team hopes to assist many young-adult consumers this summer and fall as they venture into the grown-up world. Visit Metro Ford of OKC right off I-44 in OKC for Ford vehicles featuring push button ignition, remote keyless entry, navigation, touch screens with SiriusXM and the traffic guru Waze, heated seats, and more!

Metro Ford of OKC will always be there for you because we love the OKC community and our Service Department staff works hard to ensure a safe and luxurious driving experience from day one of your lease or ownership. Find out more on Metro Ford of OKC’s website or social media accounts!
