Ford Mustang outside of Putnam City Highschool

This past weekend of April 14th, Metro Ford of OKC was given the privilege of partnering with Drive 4 UR Community and Putnam City High School. This initiative allows for Ford Dealerships to partner with schools in fundraising attempts. For this event, for every test-driver, Ford donated $20 per driver. Cars at the event included; a 2018 Ford F-150, 2018 Ford Fusion, 2018 Ford Mustangs, etc.

Putnam City High School Principal, Brett Bradley stated this is, “The most productive and most fundraiser that we do all year! It’s easier to ask your friends and family to come test drive a car than it is to go door to door selling something.”

There was significant community involvement and turn out during the event. When the event completed, there was a total donation of $2,000.00 to be donated by Ford to Putnam City High School. Fund usage will be dispersed to particular programs in the school as well as to students and their activities whose families participated in the event.

“This is the second year we have participated in Drive 4 UR School with Putnam City High School,” recollected Emily Taylor, Director of Marketing for Ted Moore Auto Group, the parent company of Metro Ford of OKC, “We are proud to be aligned with Ford’s Drive 4 UR School program and have the and to have the opportunity to serve our community. We will be continuing with our Drive 4 events, the next one Drive 4 UR Community with the Disabled American Veterans Test Drive Event on May 24th.”

We are thankful to have been able to be a voice of change within the Public School system.

The 2018 Ford F-150 is easy to obtain no matter your income. That is why the F-150 is the #1 selling vehicle in the United States and beloved by so many, especially here in Oklahoma. Actually, you may be surprised to hear who drives this classic pick-up truck. The photo above is definitely not a spoiler…

The F-150 comes in seven trims and starts at $27,110, but if you want to add your own special touches to your truck, Ford gives you that capability. Whatever configuration you choose, the badge, frame, and status of the truck remain the same.

Many affluent people may seek luxury brands simply as a status symbol, but the F-150 marches to a very different beat, one well known in OKC. Though the truck is affordable, it is still the number one selling vehicle in households earning a total income of over $500,000 a year. With four different engine options, cloth or leather seats, and multiple other features, it is no surprise celebrities like Chris Pratt, Jason Aldean, John Mayer and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson proudly park their F-150’s in their drive way.

The F-150 holds a place in a variety of people’s homes and hearts, from average Joes to celebrities, and it can hold a place in yours. Picture of Red Cross as Metro Ford OKC June 2017 blood drive

Metro Ford of OKC hosted a blood drive to support the American Red Cross. The goal was to bring together those who can to donate blood, which is a vital resource that is running low this summer.

The American Red Cross of Oklahoma set up at noon on June 23, 2017, in the Metro Ford of OKC lobby and stayed for donations until 6:30 p.m. There were 13 pints of blood collected, each pint saving 3 lives. Because of the generous donations of the local Oklahoma City community, nearly 40 people will have a better chance of recovering from a major injury or disease.

Metro Ford of OKC and the American Red Cross thank you for donating in the blood drive. We look forward to helping the vital Red Cross save more lives at our next drive.

It’s been over 20 years since Ford announced it would no longer manufacture the Bronco; but after 2 decades have passed, the Bronco is officially making its return: The 2020 Bronco is here.

2020 Ford Bronco Release

At the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, Ford officially announced that they were bringing back the Ford Bronco in 2020 after its discontinuation in 1996. As of now, not much is known about the new model of the 2020 Bronco aside from when it will be released and that it is being built alongside the new Ranger, and will likely encompass similar features.

At one point in time, not long ago, the Bronco was considered the embodiment of the American South and Midwest. With a rugged and open design that preached freedom on the open road, the Bronco has a history entangled with that of the Jeep Wrangler as its main competitor, which will surely be reborn in 2020.

Soon more information will begin to come out about this new truck, but one thing that can be assured of based on its past models is its off-road ability as well as a tough and sharp design that pays homage to its ancestors.

With the weather starting to clear up and temperatures rising, it’s about time to start planning your annual trips to the wilderness with your new car. Here are five great hiking spots that Oklahoma has to offer.

A picture of the Wichita Mountains

Rough Canyon Trail – Robber’s Cave – Robber’s Cave is one of the most popular outdoor hot spots in Oklahoma, and it has many different trails and sights to offer. Located in Wilburton, Oklahoma, The Rough Canyon Trail is an Oklahoma hiker favorite. This 3-mile loop starts about 100 feet from the cave area itself, this rocky trail provides a moderate challenge but the beautiful scenery makes it well worth it.

Narrows Trail – Wichita Mountains – This trail is a little more challenging than the Rough Canyon Trail and may require a little more athleticism on the part of the hiker. But if you put in effort and work your way to the trail’s peak, you’re rewarded with a view of the Wichita Mountain’s that just can’t be beat.

Rough Horsetail Nature Trail – Red Rock Canyon State Park – This half mile trail is a little easier than the previous two and is suitable for the whole family to come out and have a great evening outdoors. Receiving its name from the Horsetail plants that surround the area, this trail’s path is mostly dirt and easy to follow without getting lost.

Black Mesa Summit Trail – Black Mesa State Park – This trail is one of my personal favorites, but can also be a bit of a challenge. The highest point of the trail will take you to, well, the highest point in Oklahoma. This 8.4-mile round-trip trail walks you through some beautiful scenery and takes you to the peak of the Black Mesa, an elevation of 4,973 feet. This trail certainly earns the term “Ford tough.”

Roman Nose Trail – Roman Nose State Park – If you’re looking for a little more solitude in the wilderness, the lightly traveled Roman Nose Trail may be perfect for you. This 2.9-mile, moderately difficult trail provides both trails for biking and mountain biking, as well as an opportunity to see the trail’s famous “Inspiration Point” for your self.

Ford has always encouraged being active and embracing great outdoors, instilling those values and qualities in its vehicles. If you love being active and adventurous and just need the car to compliment your work ethic, please give us a call at Metro Ford of OKC.

Drive 4 Ur School

Students are setting up a Drive 4 Ur School pop up tent

At Metro Ford of OKC, we believe in giving back, especially to education in Oklahoma. That’s why, when the dealership was given the opportunity to take part in Ford’s Drive 4ur School events, the staff didn’t hesitate.

Michelle Gray, Events & PR Coordinator for Metro Ford of OKC, can testify to that excitement.

“This really was a staff-led and initiated event,” Gray said. “Everyone who participated in this Drive 4ur School event was really proud to be raising money for a school in our community.”

Drive 4ur School is a Ford program that enables dealerships to give back to education in the communities they serve by donating $20 per test drive taken at a #drive4urschool event.

Metro Ford of OKC partnered with Putnam City High School to host the test drive event, with the goal being to raise enough money to assist the high school’s student activities to continue with funding.

On Saturday, May 6, 2017, Metro Ford of OKC brought 10 of its most popular new car models and dozens of staff members to Putnam City High School, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to man a seven-hour community event where more than 100 test-drives were taken, and over $2,000 was raised for Putnam City High School.
