We’ve Gone ‘More Than Tough’
The year 2020 inspired Ford to look beyond “Built Tough” and begin to admire and celebrate American inventiveness. While everyone went under the nationwide quarantine, Ford Motor Company commended those who responded to the pandemic with creativity.
Thus, the campaign ‘More Than Tough’ was born. The creators of the F-150 recognize that the owners of this truck have a diverse set of needs when it comes to their pickups. The F-150 truck allows for those needs to be supported and uses a little creativity while doing so.
For this campaign, Ford Motor Company has partnered with DJ D-Nice to promote the vehicle through multicultural lifestyles. DJ D-Nice was affected by the pandemic because the live entertainment industry had to come to a halt. However, this wouldn’t stop him from finding a way to combat loneliness in a safe and pandemic friendly matter.
DJ D-Nice created the now famous “Club Quarantine” which is a virtual dance club for millions of people to meet and cope through the DJ’s musical hits for hours of enjoyment. OWN, BET and TV One all aired a 30-second television spot called “Work It Out” back in January. This spot featured the DJ headed to a gig in his new 2021 F-150 and it being filled with all of his equipment. It showcased DJ D-Nice bringing the party to partygoers by using the new truck’s Pro Power Onboard™ to power his DJ equipment. All the while following the pandemic’s restrictions.
DJ D-Nice has said that “Being tough has a new meaning” since he’s been working on Club Quarantine. “I’m proud to introduce the all-new 2021 Ford F-150 that they built tougher to take your hustle to the next level.”
The F-150 is part of Ford’s F-Series, which proudly has sold as America’s best-selling truck for 44 straight years. By having the Pro Power Onboard™, it frees up cargo space since it allows owners to leave their generators at home. The spacious interior can be used as an anywhere office, especially since the F-150’s surface is ideal for signing documents, working on a laptop, or taking your lunch break. Ford has also created a feature that is a stowable unit for the Ford F-150. This easily folds into the center console to allow for full access to a larger work surface.

The Bronco Returns as Ford’s Outdoor Brand
Ford is a name we all know and love, and they announced a new, familiar addition to the brand. Bronco will officially return as Ford’s all-new outdoor brand. This means that Bronco will be a family of vehicles instead of just a single car. For some, Bronco is a name that holds great significance, and Ford is pulling off of the beloved original 1966 Bronco, but expanding that brand to fit the car needs of all. The Bronco line will include a Bronco two-door, the first ever Bronco four-door, and a smaller Bronco sport model. You can see the silhouettes of the three featured models in the above picture.
Bronco is built for the outdoors, and Ford is drawing off of the original 1966 Bronco’s racing heritage and outdoor capability, and renovating it with new technology to cater to today’s outdoor adventurers.
“Bronco gave rise to the fun and versatile off-road SUV in 1966, becoming the first enjoyable sport utility vehicle for those who wanted to live, work and play outdoors,” said Jim Farley, Ford chief operating officer. “Like the original, the all-new Bronco family is engineered to take you to epic places, with capability to deliver confidence on any type of terrain.”
Ford Bronco Designs
The new Bronco models are designed with Built Wild principles to deliver the best off-road performance, the Built Wild includes: Built Wild Extreme Durability Testing, Built Wild Capability, and Built Wild Innovative Design. The Built Wild Durability Testing ensures these cars are built for the outdoors and all of the harsh environments and roads you could find yourself on during your adventure. The Built Wild Capability is the insurance you need that you can go over any terrain. Lastly, the Built Wild Innovative Design gives you the perfect blend of the original look of a Ford Bronco, with ingenuity and updates for today’s driver.
The new Bronco brand is to inspire outdoor adventuring and to give all those craving adventures a vehicle they can trust. However, it doesn’t stop at just a new line-up of models; the Bronco team is creating a new Off-Roadeo outdoor adventure playground in four different locations in the U.S. starting in 2021. This gives owners and Bronco enthusiasts a place to test out the new line-up in challenging terrain. These Off-Roadeo adventure playgrounds will be adapted for all skill levels and are to hopefully inspire all Bronco owners to get outdoors for years and years to come.

Ford Bronco Premiere
The wild returns with new Ford cars for sale on Thursday, July 9th! Ford confirmed that the new 2020 Bronco will make its worldwide debut this July due to delays from COVID-19. The Bronco premiere was first confirmed at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, with a premiere originally scheduled for March 18th 2020. Sadly, COVID-19 pushed the date back all the way into July. This iconic new Ford for sale will be assembled in Wayne, Michigan at Ford’s Assembly Plant, right where the original Bronco began. Ford has kept the new Bronco tightly under wraps, but with Bronco’s shining history, it’s sure to be a hit.
Ford enthusiasts will long recognize the Bronco name. This SUV started life in 1966 and left the market 30 years later, to the disappointment of fans everywhere. Five generations of Broncos had thrilled Ford enthusiasts, truck lovers, and car & truck magazines for years. Bronco wowed them all with its flexibility, able to function as an ORV, family vehicle, or farm truck. It helped that the Bronco came in three styles: roadster, pickup, and wagon. Although these three styles helped the image of capability shown by a Bronco, most pegged it as a truck.
However, the Bronco ended its run as more of an SUV, capable of on-or-off roading. By the end of the Bronco era, customers had seen the engine shift to a capable V-6, reach a top speed of 100 miles per hour, numerous design changes (including the addition of the Ford logo on the grille), and the change from a removable to a fixed hard roof. It changed with the times, but still couldn’t hold up when it came to competition between Ford and Chevrolet. Thus, the Ford Expedition was born while the Bronco faded away.
Now, the world-wide showing for the new Ford Bronco revival is set for July 9th, 2020. Since the original Bronco held up so well, with customers still loving their original vehicles to this day, the announcement couldn’t come soon enough for lovers of new Ford cars. The modified date was first mentioned in a tweet by Ford on June 13th. The iconic day also happens to fall on O.J. Simpson’s birthday. According to Ford’s North America product communications manager, Mike Levine, this was purely coincidental. It does put a damper on Ford’s celebration, but the return of the Bronco will still inspire joy from Ford enthusiasts.
There are limited pictures depicting the elusive 2020 Ford Bronco, but it will be an echo of the original 1966 version. The Bronco will continue its offroader origins, going up against the Jeep Wrangler and Toyota 4Runner. It will have a solid rear axle, air roof, and a 4×4 build with body-on-frame. A smaller Bronco Sport will be available. It will have a 4-door body that’s similar to the Ford Bronco. Sales for the Bronco’s two versions (four-door vs. two-door) will start next year. All in all, we’re sure that it will be an astounding new Ford vehicle that will delight customers all over the world.

Through this time of uncertainty, COVID-19 has definitely been challenging for all. Many companies and individuals are trying to find ways to give back while still honoring the stay-at-home recommendations. The Ford Motor Company Fund has announced two unique ways that Ford employees can do just that by making donations and launching a virtual volunteer program.
The Ford Fund and Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman Bill Ford, have created the Covid-19 Donation Match program. This gives Ford employees, as well as family and friends, an opportunity to make a donation to support community organizations and nonprofits in more than 20 countries in the world. $500,000 will be matched in donations to designated community organizations to fight against COVID-19. This will potentially raise $1 million in an effort to meet coronavirus related needs for groups battling the pandemic across the globe.
The Ford Fund is also offering “Read and Record”, a virtual volunteering project that invites Ford employees from around the world to record and submit videos of themselves reading a children’s book in their own language to create an online library. This library will be catalogued by language and is planned to be shared with philanthropic groups that serve children and families. Read and Record is being offered as an opportunity to increase literacy and promote a love of reading that will allow Ford employees to give back while being safe at home.
“During trying times, Ford employees are used to being the boots on the ground – getting out, signing up and pitching in to help make a difference,” said Mary Culler, president, Ford Motor Company Fund. “Even now, while many are sheltering in place at home, our employees are looking for ways to help. These two new programs offer meaningful ways for employees to give back and join in the fight against COVID-19.”
For other activities to do at home during the pandemic, Ford Fund is compiling COVID-19 related volunteer opportunities and providing a library of free online resources offered by many of its community partners. These activities are designed to help entertain, educate or inspire people of all ages. Find out more about the Ford Fund through virtual tours, downloadable worksheets, online tutorials, videos and more! Don’t forget to visit the site’s “How You Can Help” page to see how employees can contribute to specific nonprofit needs for volunteers or donations of goods and suppliers.

Partners for Prevention
Ford is Partnering up with 3M and GE Healthcare in effort to accelerate production of COVID-19 Protective equipment. Together they plan to expand and increase production of ventilators to help meet the high demand during this critical time to those affected, at high risk and to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Ford and 3M are manufacturing Powered Air-Purifying Respirators (PARPs) for first responders and healthcare workers. Ford is utilizing fans from their F-150’s cooled seats for airflow while 3M HEPA air filters are being utilized to filter airborne contaminants. A portable tool battery pack will power these respirators for up to 8 hours.
Ford and GE Healthcare are utilizing both their manufacturing sites to expand production on a simplified version of GE Healthcare’s existing ventilator design. These ventilators are designed to support patients with difficulty breathing due to COVID-19 or respiratory failure.
“Working with 3M and GE, we have empowered our teams of engineers and designers to be scrappy and creative to quickly help scale up production of this vital equipment,” Ford CEO Jim Hackett said in the company’s announcement. “We’ve been in regular dialogue with federal, state and local officials to understand the areas of greatest needs.”
In addition, Ford is also utilizing their in-house 3D printers to produce components used in personal protective equipment. With the cooperation of the United Auto Worker’s Union (UAW), Ford plans on assembling more than 100,000 plastic face shields per week to help medical professionals, factory workers and store clerks.
“This is such a critical time for America and the world. It is time for action and cooperation,” said Bill Ford, executive chairman at Ford Motor Co. “By coming together across multiple industries, we can make a real difference for people in need and for those on the front line of this crisis.”

The Ford Tremor Package Shakes Up The Super Duty

The Ford Tremor Off-Road Package takes the 2020 F-Series Super Duty to the next level. The Tremor model creates a vehicle that perfectly synthesizes adventure and work. This truck gives a greater towing and payload capacity in comparison with the Ram Power Wagon, and is arguably the most capable off-road Super Duty ever.
Built for versatility, highway driving, and low-speed offroading, the 2020 Super Duty Tremor features a selection of driving modes. This lets drivers choose a driving mode suited to the driving conditions. These settings include a normal mode for driving in town, a mode for towing and hauling, an eco mode for fuel economy, and a slippery mode for icy conditions and deep snow/sand for low-traction conditions.
An all-new mode unique to Tremor is the new rock-crawl mode. In certain modes, including the rock-crawl mode, the front axle will sense when a tire has lost traction and can use the brakes to send power to the wheel with traction.
The Ford Tremor Off-Road Package will be made available later this year when Ford launches the 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty and the 2020 F-350 Super Duty models.

Truck Emojis Coming Soon Thanks to Ford

On July 17, 2019, Ford celebrated World Emoji Day with the debut of the pickup truck emoji.
Emojis are used every day in text messages and on social media. Once only used to describe facial expressions, emojis are now used to describe and articulate a variety of activities, foods, animals, symbols and even relationships and values. Emojis are even used now to order food from certain stores and with certain apps!
Last year Ford noticed a disparity in the emojis available on smart devices and smartphones. There was no pickup truck emoji. In response to this issue, Ford sent a proposal to the Unicode Consortium, the organization responsible for reviewing and approving new emojis, and petitioned to add a truck emoji to emoji keyboards everywhere.
In a recent press release, Joe Hinrichs, the president of Ford Motor company, said this proposal was in direct response to customers’ complaints about the lack of a pickup truck emoji. This is just one example of how Ford listens to and responds to their customers’ needs, even if its a simple need like a pickup truck emoji.
Truck and smartphone-lovers everywhere can get excited, because thanks to Ford, you will soon be able to use the pickup truck emoji on your smartphone or tablet. Hopefully, the new pickup truck emoji will be approved by 2020. And who knows? Maybe the day is coming soon when you can order and purchase a Ford pickup truck with the pickup truck emoji.
